Resident Evil: Cinematic Reboot Now Has Cast Confirmed

Constantin Film presents the cast of the new film adaptation of the Capcom saga that promises to return to its origins; we go back to 1998.

At the end of 2018, the cinematic reboot of the Resident Evil video game saga by filmmaker Johannes Roberts (47 meters away) was announced, a new reboot that promised to be faithful to the origins of Capcom’s original work. Well, the cast of actors and actresses who will play the different main characters has already been confirmed. This has been shared by the Deadline medium through new statements by Constantin Film and the director himself, responsible for this new reboot that will delve into the foundations of the video game franchise.

Thus, this new Resident Evil reboot will feature Robbie Amell (Code 8) as Chris Redfield, Kaya Scodelario (Underwater Hell) as Claire Redfield, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp) as Jill Valentine, Avan Jogia (Zombieland: Kill and Finish) as Leon S. Kennedy, Tom Hopper (The Umbrella Academy) as Albert Wesker and Neal McDonough (Minority Report) as William Birkin.

The film will take us to the true origin of video games, set in 1998 in Raccoon City, and in which we will witness the debacle caused by the T Virus in the middle of a quiet night. Roberts himself has already stated that “with this film I wanted to go back to the two original video games and recreate that terrifying and visceral experience that I had when playing, while at the same time telling a very human story about a small and decadent American town with which today’s public can empathize and feel relevant ”.

At the moment there is no release date announced or information about the start of filming, although it could arrive in time for the 25th anniversary of the launch of the first video game sometime in 2021. Meanwhile, we can already enjoy the first trailer of Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, CGI adaptation that will arrive on Netflix in 2021.
