Devil May Cry 3 for Nintendo Switch confirms a second novelty

The Capcom classic debuts on the Kyoto console and presents news regarding the other versions.

Dante continues to war. The most famous demon hunter of video games returns to Nintendo Switch with the remastered version of Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, an original PlayStation 2 title that has also seen the light on other next-generation platforms. However, unlike the first two main titles, the video game will be released in Mario's hybrid with unpublished news. This means that exclusive mechanics for Switch will be incorporated: the exchange of style (already announced) and the exchange of weapons.

This has been confirmed by Capcom through a publication on its website. It was advanced by producer Matt Walker, although now the two features are completely relieved. First, the change of style is introduced. "Devil May Cry 3 was the first game that introduced the style system," recalls Capcom, which allowed us to choose between 6 different (4 from the beginning and two other unlockables). In that first version, we chose the style at the beginning of each mission or in one of the statues of the divinity.

It was not until Devil May Cry 4 when the possibility of changing style was added at any time. The same system has been implemented in the Nintendo Switch version of Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition. To change style, just press up, down, left or right. Other styles will require a double press. It will also be possible to raise the level of styles.

The freedom to change weapons

However, it is not the only extra functionality that Capcom developers have put on the table. From now on, players can equip all weapons and exchange them at any time during combat. Previously, it was only possible to equip two weapons and 2 weapons of the devil at the same time, but with the new system, they are increased up to 5 in both cases, although some will have to be unlocked. In order for the system to function properly, a radial menu has been added.

Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition can be purchased on February 20 separately, but also in a triple pack next to the previous titles, although only the first one will come on the card. The saga continued last year from the hand of Devil May Cry 5, a new installment that did not appear on the Nintendo console and offered different playable characters, each with its differentiated fighting style.
