DayZ roadmap for 2020 presented

Developer Bohemia Interactive has big plans for their survival title ‘DayZ’ also this year, which will continue to be actively supported.

At least five major updates are planned, starting with patch 1.07 this February. Further updates will follow at larger intervals since the team around DayZ has been reduced somewhat. The main focus is on performance and bug fixes.

Roadmap 2020

  • Building bases is an important part of the game for many of you, so you'll focus on fixing the most common problems, proceeding with the entire Balance Pass, and maybe even adding some new things to play with.
  • The effects of the environment on the characters are not yet as they were intended, so the intention is to make numerous improvements and compensatory changes to make the so-called "environmental exposure" a much more interesting part of the game.
  • It is planned to improve the quality of life when cooking, for example by implementing direct cooking slots (grills), adjusting the lifespan of different chimney levels and even offering more types of indoor stoves.
  • One would like to examine the systems that surround diseases and their symptoms to ensure that they are more balanced, better used, and possibly even expanded a little.
  • The server mission folder is unlocked for full changes on console community servers. This should give console server owners complete control over the central economy and the ability to add custom locations to existing maps.
  • The animation rig will be released in fbx format and p3d samples of body parts of male and female characters.
  • As already announced in the blog post from 2019 about the game update, the intention is to complete the implementation of the server browser with full mod support in the official DayZ Launcher. If everything went well, this launcher update will significantly improve access to modified servers.
  • The intention is to add more original and / or new firearms to the game.
  • You know how important broken body parts (especially legs) are for the entire DayZ experience, and that's why you intend to bring this mechanic back into play.
  • You know how much players like the new vehicle wrecks on Livonia, so they will be added to Chernarus.

Apart from that, there will also be new content this year that will be presented at a later date. The complete roadmap can also be found on the official website.
