The Wonderful 101 sweeps Kickstarter: new objectives for the campaign

The Platinum4 title is the first Platinum 4 game. Next April it will be available for bakcers on Switch, PC and PS4 in physical and digital.

PlatinumGames has fulfilled all its main objectives with the Kickstarter financing campaign of The Wonderful 101: Remastered. The Japanese studio, with Hideki Kamiya and Atsushi Inaba in the lead, wanted to bring back this hitherto exclusive Wii U title released there by 2013; but next April it will also be available on Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation 4.

We cited them in that order because the goals were very clear: it was necessary to raise $ 50,000 to go out in the hybrid; $ 250,000 to do the same on Steam; and finally, $ 500,000 for the game to see the light in Sony's domestic. And so it has been. At the time of publication of this article, The Wonderful 101: Remastered has already been 801,144 euros raised with a total of 13,347 sponsors and 31 days ahead.

A success that seems to be more a controlled marketing strategy, a thermometer, than a specific economic need for the adventure of Wonder Red, as intuited from an interview granted by the Japanese creative couple to Eurogamer, where they speak following This crowdfunding that this may be the first stone to cement its own catalog of self-published titles in the future: “We are sure that we will receive the support of our fans, and we will check if it is a success; initially we will focus on this project, and based on its success we will continue to self-publish in the future ”.

Platinum 4, the name of the mysterious website with which it all began, is actually the purpose of launching four video games (we do not know if all remastering or other completely original). The first of them, The Wonderful 101: Remastered, will be a reality and will be launched this April.

All goals achieved: new goals for The Wonderful 101

If half a million dollars was the first big roof that PlatinumGames faced to make The Wonderful 101: Remastered on all platforms possible — Xbox One is a wish for Hideki Kamiya, but it doesn't appear in the campaign's stretch goals; A million dollars is the next goal that, judging by the speed of campaign financing, will be far exceeded.

With a million dollars will come the Time Attack mode, a speedrun mode that has not offered more details. Finally, Luka’s First Mission: “A completely new 2D side-scrolling adventure that will star a completely new young hero.”

With a month ahead and many undisclosed objectives, Platinum Games is guaranteed that 33 euros back-digital-and 37 euros-physical format will receive The Wonderful 101: Remastered at their homes on the platform chosen this April.
