Warcraft 3: Reforged: Blizzard apologizes and promises improvements

The American study does not turn a deaf ear to what happened, with hundreds of criticisms, review bombing and the disaffection of fans.

The release of Warcraft 3: Reforged has not been without problems. The remastered version of the famous real-time strategy title of Blizzard Entertainment has reached the market with many problems of varying degrees; some of them, especially serious for some users such as content control, which has resulted in a review bombing (wave of negative ratings) in Metacritic. Blizzard has responded with an official statement and promises a patch.

"We want to apologize to all who have not had the desired experience"

The company's community manager, Randy "Kaivax" Jordan, has published an extensive message addressed to everyone; both disgruntled fans and Warcraft 3 enthusiasts who hope to get into remastering once everything is fixed. His message is clear: the team is "completely committed to supporting the game during the coming times."

That entails several things; one of them, a patch scheduled for this week with which the problems of color interpretation and some shadows, animations and bugs in the audio, among other minor problems concerning the interface, are solved. He has also commented on the problem of cinematic scenes, which are not the renewed ones that were shown during the BlizzCon 2018. This problem of absence of remastered scenes is due, according to the company, to being able to keep the essence of the original videogame intact.

"We want to apologize to all who have not had the desired experience," they comment, assuming responsibility for everything that has happened, "and we would like to share with you our plans for what is to come." Although Jordan has not offered a specific date with which it is known approximately when they estimate to have everything ready, it does show that “in the coming weeks” they will be eliminating tasks from the list so that the “hard work” that ensures Blizzard is doing is materialized in Warcraft 3: Reforged how long players have been waiting.

The rain of criticism is unavoidable, however, with more than 22,300 negative ratings on Metacritic by players; Only 870 are positive. The situation leaves the title in a complex place at the media level, but it is not the first that is splashed by a situation like this. Blizzard, meanwhile, has begun to make automatic returns.

Warcraft 3: Reforged is now available on PC via Battle.net. You can know all the details here.
