In what order to watch Batman movies
Batman debuted at the cinema in 1966 as an extension of the popular television series of the time, with a very similar humorous tone. It was not until 1989 when the character returned to the big screen with the adaptation at the hands of director Tim Burton, with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson as Batman and Joker, respectively. Soon his sequel would come, Batman Returns (1992), again with Michael Keaton in the role of the Dark Knight and the apparitions of Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny DeVito as Catwoman and Penguin, respectively, the film's antagonists.
In 1995 the third part would come, Batman Forever, now under the direction of Joel Schumacher with Val Kilmer as Batman alongside the debut of Chris O'Donell as Robin; the villains were Enigma and Dos Caras by Jim Carrey and Tommy Lee Jones, respectively. Batman and Robin (1997) would be the fourth and final installment of the saga, again with Joel Schumacher at the head of the project although this time with George Clooney as Batman with Uma Thurman and Arnold Schwarzenegger as Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze, respectively. Alicia Silverstone debuted alongside the O'Donell Robin as Batgirl.
In 2005 the new trilogy of Christopher Nolan with Batman Begins with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne / Batman, a new saga with a much more realistic tone that would follow with The Dark Knight in 2008 (with a great Heath Ledger as Joker) and would end in 2010 with The Dark Knight Rises with Tom Hardy as Bane and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman.
Warner Bros., with the goal of building a shared universe of DC superheroes, returned Batman to the movies with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016 by Zack Snyder with Ben Affleck as a Batman who faces the threat of a Superman played by Henry Cavill (The Witcher). In 2017, Justice League would be released, again with the Ben Affleck Batman, a project that passed from Zack Snyder to Joss Whedon, along with other superheroes such as Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg.
The next Batman movie as part of another universe will be The Batman, scheduled for summer 2021 under the direction of Matt Reeves and with actor Robert Pattinson as a young Bruce Wayne / Batman after the abandonment of the project by Ben Affleck.
