Counter Strike: Global Offensive exceeds its record of simultaneous users

Counter Strike: Global Offensive breaks its own record of simultaneous users in almost 900 thousand users. The phenomenon of Valve does not stop growing.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive is in a sweet moment. After the recent incorporation of the Shattered Web operation, the number of users has gradually grown to the point where we are now.

According to Steam DB, a page that records the statistics of the Valve platform in real time, the mythical first person shooter has broken its record of concurrent users. The numbers scare: 876,575 players remained in the game at the same time, exceeding their previous record in more than 20 thousand users, which occurred on March 28, 2016. The exact figure reached 850,485.

On the podium

Having achieved such a great feat puts him in third place of the highest peak of simultaneous users in the entire history of Steam, only surpassed by Playersunknow’s Battlegrounds (3,257,248) and DOTA 2 (1,295,114). The list of the first ten would be completed with the following:

  • Playersunknow’s Battlegrounds | 3,257,248

  • DOTA 2 | 1,295,114

  • Counter Strike: Global Offensive | 876,575

  • Fallout 4 | 472,962

  • POSTCARD | 412,063

  • Grand Theft Auto V | 364,548

  • Hitman 2 | 361,001

  • Kathy Rain | 348,015

  • Monster Hunter: World | 334,684

  • Counter-Strike | 319,586

  • Games like GTA V have a little more merit than the rest, since within the PC world they can be played in other launchers that do not require Steam, such as that of the company itself. It is surprising how many players that single-player titles obtained during their first days, both Fallout 4 and Hitman 2. What is clear is that the gap between the podium and the rest is more open than ever.

Counter Strike: Global Offensive is currently available at no additional cost. From the policy change to one that embraced free to play, it has become a fantastic opportunity to experience the most played multiplayer competitive shooter on PC.
