Up until a few days ago there was still talk of a new 2K studio in Silicon Valley, which has now got an official name and is called the 31st Union.
31st Union is headed by former Sledgehammer Games founder, Michael Condrey, who will be the first to work on a completely new brand for 2K games. There will be a total of several locations, including in Spain, which is also being presented today.
A statement on the opening says:
“31st Union is off to an incredible start with a passionate and talented team, an intended culture that promotes inclusiveness and stronger representation, and an ambitious and inspired new IP that we look forward to,” said Michael Condrey. “Our name and studio represent the spirit of California in its rich variety of thoughts, art, music, innovation and cultural representation that have defined the current golden age of entertainment and technology here in Silicon Valley. By unveiling our new identity and announcing the expansion of our business, we are entering an exciting next phase of growth to include more voices and bring our vision to life around the world. "
