The Witcher of Netflix confirms that the filming of Season 2 has begun

Production has begun a little earlier than expected, although no details have been transcended on any of the frames that will be developed.

That Freya Allen, an actress who plays Princess Ciri, was training hard, was already a clear sign that the recording of the second season of The Witcher was close. Now it is official. According to Comic Book, the new series of episodes has already started filming, a filming full of unknowns, since no details about the plot have yet been revealed. In fact, Netflix confirmed that it would not be available on the platform until 2021, still without a specific date.

Before the premiere of Season 2, we will still enjoy the fantasy world created by Andrzej Sapkowski, since Neftlix prepares an anime movie based on the franchise. In The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf we will live the story of Vesemir, the mentor of Geralt de Rivia. The plot will deepen the character's origins as a sorcerer, years before the character played by Henry Cavill crossed his life.

Beyond that those responsible for the series, with the showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich in the lead, will be responsible for shaping this product, they have not revealed too much data. Nor has the rumor that marks Mark Hamill, Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, as the actor behind Vesemir been fulfilled, at least for now.

A fantasy with color

What is official is that Lauren S. Hissrich took into account video games when addressing the design of the series. Despite acknowledging that she is not a player, she observed the Projekt RED CD titles and moved the visual aesthetic to her fiction. According to his words, he did not want The Witcher to be a dark fantasy, but to be impregnated with colors, as in video games. As if that were not enough, numerous Easter eggs were added, specially placed to interact with fans of the titles.

The Witcher of Netflix has not escaped criticism. Some viewers charged against changes in certain characters, something that has been interpreted as racism. Andrzej Sapkowski himself has stepped out to declare that there is no special emphasis on race in his books and that the creators of the series have the right to adapt the work freely.
