The excellent port still had room for visual improvement
It was already anticipated that the new part of the Complete Edition of The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch "would deserve the wait" and it seems that it will be so. The patch has already been deployed in some countries, such as in Korea, and its effects have not gone unnoticed by the community of players there. Saber Interactive had already done a fabulous job with the conversion, but it seems they had not yet finished getting all the performance to the Nintendo hybrid.
A very promising patch
The first notable element of the patch is a general improvement in both portable and dock mode. Established this, with the patch up to eight new graphic options are incorporated that we can configure to obtain improvements in performance and customized graphics, balancing aspects that call us more or less attention to obtain more fluidity or more reloaded graphics, according to our preferences:
The options are:
- Bloom
- Definition
- Depth of Field
- Depth of Field for Kinematic Cuts
- Chromatic Aberration
- Water quality
- Vegetation viewing distance
- Anti-aliasing
This is not only welcome because you can customize the visual experience, it will also reduce some effects that are not usually liked by everyone – for example, there are players who do not support chromatic aberration. And some of these fields are usually black holes of frames, such as water quality, so it is really good to have the possibility of touching it, even if it is not something that is seen excessively on consoles, where we are used to this selection come somewhat "by default" and that the minimum possible options are offered so as not to lose the player.
Since it has already appeared in some regions, we may have it soon in our versions too. The update of the Eshop in the West takes place on Thursdays, so you have to be aware of whether the players of The Witcher 3 on Switch receive good news these days.
