The Wonderful 101 Remastered uncovers its release date; new trailer

Platinum Games announces the return of the game directed by Hideki Kamiya, which will be released on different dates depending on the territory.

The Wii U game that went something unnoticed in its time will have a new opportunity in the hands of The Wonderful 101 Remastered, a title that will bring the Platinum Games game to current systems. The Japanese company has just announced the release date of the title, which will arrive on PlayStation 4, PC and Nintendo Switch, after the developer swept through its micromanagement campaign through Kickstarter. It will do it on different dates depending on the market, although nobody will have to wait too long. In addition, it releases a new trailer (and the detail is that there is no Nintendo copyright). The dates are as follows:

  • United States: May 19
  • Europe: May 22
  • Jappon: June 11

The Kickstarted campaign has not concluded, although the objectives were met very quickly. In the absence of 9 days to close, the sum already amounts to more than 1,600,000 euros raised, money that will be used, according to the study, to finance the publication and distribution of the game. So, The Wonderful 101 Remastered will include up to a new 2D game created expressly for this version.

The future of Platinum Games

The Japanese study, which has received a capital injection from Tencent, has several projects underway. In addition to Babylon's Fall and Bayonetta 3, which they develop for Square Enix and Nintendo, respectively, developers are immersed in the work of a new intellectual property. In fact, Platinum Games has just announced the new video game directed by Hideki Kamiya, which will close the trilogy of the hero started by Viewtiful Joe. Project G.G is a completely new product that will follow the steps of The Wonderful 101.

“Viewtiful Joe is a Kamen Rider style, where a guy becomes a hero,” explains Kamiya himself. "Where The Wonderful 101 is more like a group of people becoming heroes, Project G.G is like a giant hero title." At the moment, there are no more details about it.
