Pokémon on Netflix: All movies and series available in Spain

Apart from the premiere of Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution on Netflix, we review all the other contents of the saga.

The premiere of Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution in NETFLIX has become the plan for this weekend in the homes of thousands of fans of the license, which turned this twenty-fourth anniversary on February 27. What has been termed as Pokémon Day has brought with it this new movie; but there are many more … and some of them are on this same platform.

Because the audiovisual production of Pokémon is immense. Not only in movies, there have been at least one – without exception – since 1999, but also in series, OVAs, special chapters not necessarily starring Ash Ketchum and Pikachu; even a spin off like Detective Pikachu.

Pokémon TV NETFLIX

The expanded universe of video games has its own idiosyncrasy, a slightly different way of interpreting the world of Pokémon, as does the manga, with some alterations but with the same philosophy. If you have a Netflix account, we hope this article can serve as a guide to exploring Pokémon content and spend some time with the Pocket Monsters without having the control in your hands.

And you, which one do you prefer for this next weekend?

* The Netflix Pokémon licenses of this article are governed by Netflix Spain; in other countries there are many more. Also, emission rights come and go, they are not eternal. We will update the article before any change or eventuality.

TV series – What Pokémon seasons are available

To get an idea of a summary, Pokémon has a total of seven great sagas or "series" within the canonical production starring Ash Ketchum, Pikachu and company. If we break down each of these stages to or were – that each corresponds to a Generation; with the exception of Kanto and Johto, which covered only one jointly—, we talk about more than 21 moderately self-closing seasons, something that from OLM, Inc. and TV Tokyo, the producer and the television channel where the series is broadcast, have always intended: that a restart occurs. Thus, every year approximately everything starts again; either with a new adventure in the same region or in a territory completely unexplored by this well-known couple.

The positive is that all the contents are dubbed into Spanish; In addition, there is also the option to view the contents in English and Japanese, in all cases with subtitles in our language.

  • Pokémon – Indigo League

We start at the beginning. The original season, where everything starts and where the mythical "Pokémon, I choose you!" It is intact, as we saw at the time twenty years ago. A long season, of those of 52 episodes, but that does not cover all the adventures of Ash in the Kanto region. The Original Series, telling all this stage in Kanto and Johto (Pokémon: Original Series) consists of more than 270 twenty-minute chapters.

  • Pokémon Sun and Moon – 2 Seasons

Movies: when Pokémon dresses up in movies

There are more memorable Pokémon movies than others, no doubt about it. If there is something that characterizes the Pokémon feature films, it is their irregularity; with episodes of production values, rhythm and narrative care well above others. As in the television series, we have several cycles, several great stages; from the Original Series through the films of the Advanced Generation (Hoenn), the Diamond and Pearl…

So until the tonic was broken in 2017 with the Sun and Moon generation, which were removed from the obligation to rely on the region where video games took place and a trilogy of films that consisted of Pokémon took place: I choose you! Pokémon: The Power of All and Pokémon Mewtwo Strikes Back: Evolution, which is the protagonist of this month.

We do not quote these three names by chance. In addition to being the most recent (2017-2019, according to their original release date), they are all on Netflix.

  • Pokémon: I choose you! (2017): available and in Spanish. It is a reimagining of Ash's first trip, since leaving Pallet Town with Pikachu and meeting the legendary Ho-oh, but with substantial changes throughout the expertise. (Duration: 1h 37 minutes).

Mistral City as the main stage to pay tribute to the legendary Lugia, but one day a serious threat stalked the place. This movie has very careful action scenes. (Duration: 1h 38 minutes).
