The community of Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate professional players have presented Smash World Tour, an unofficial organized professional circuit that plans to organize more than 25 events worldwide throughout the year 2020. The circuit, which will feature best players of the video game, already agglomerates an amount exceeding $ 250,000 in prizes for the winners.
After Nintendo has traditionally refused the viability of Super Smash Bros. within professional electronic sports circuits, shared events or the limitation of awards at EVO category events (where it will be, as always, in 2020), the community Smash has mobilized with this unified circuit, whose structure and methodology of operation has already been detailed through a web portal.
How the Smash World Tour will work on Melee and Ultimate
The first thing to make clear is that Smash World Tour will take place from the month of March to the month of December; ten months of competition that will culminate with a great final in which the best players of the season will be seen faces. Super Smash Bros. Melee on the one hand and Ultimate on the other. Apart from the more than 25 confirmed events, three tiers or categories will be established, which will ensure that the matches are made according to the level of each participant: Platinum, Gold and Silver.

Each tournament will determine how many points each player can earn; The Top-32 final of the season (strictly following the points, all things being equal) will go to the Smash World Tour Finals, whose celebration is estimated for December 17, 18, 19 and 20.
At the moment, according to the map available with confirmed events on the website, most tournaments will be organized in the United States, but there are also others already pre-organized for Japan, Mexico, France, United Kingdom, Germany and Canada.
As they explain on the web portal, Smash World Tour has no connection or affiliation with Nintendo of America, but the will is to arouse Nintendo's interest in the competitive scene of what is already the best-selling fighting game in history.
