Superman Red Son, Analysis

Despite the cancellation of the premiere of Superman Red Son in New York for the coronavirus, Warner Home Video Entertainment Latino turned the premiere around in a very particular way in Mexico City, as it improvised an event at the Coyote Autocinema .

In this way, all attendees could not expose ourselves by staying locked in our car and enjoying a story that raises a son of Krypton within the Soviet Union of the Cold War.

Superman Red Son, Analysis

The approach makes us see a man of steel who, after discovering his powers in 1946 as a teenager, decides to put them at the service of Yosif Vissariónovich Dzhugashvili, better known as Iosif Stalin to be able to take the Soviet ideal beyond its own borders. The atmosphere and drama will let us see a Wonder Woman as ambassador of Temiscira within Russian territory. To a Lex Luthor within the American territory as a rival of Superman, to Lois Lane as a journalist who plays a fundamental role, as usual, in history and to a Batman, also Russian, in an antagonistic role that will surprise many.

As an adaptation to the comic this movie could fall short, but not because of the level of production and the plot, but because the outcome is not fully developed, hence we strongly recommend reading it to know the wonderful end of the original comic.

Superman Red Son, Analysis

The Superman comic The Red Son was popularized in 2003 by the hand of DC Comics and now the film is available on virtually all digital platforms and next March 17 will be released on DVD and Blu Ray.

CONCLUSION

Without a doubt Superman Red Son is a great film that could well remind us of the tensions that were lived between the United States and the extinct USSR with several twists that connoisseurs of classical history would not expect, but that certainly make it an original approach that well worth the duration of it

THE BEST

  • Great adaptation
  • Good animations
  • Good dubbing in English

WORST
