TurboGrafx-16 Mini is delayed indefinitely by the coronavirus

Konami paralyzes the launch of its new miniature console worldwide, including all three models, until further notice.

The coronavirus crisis continues to affect the video game industry; So much so, that Konami has announced the delay in the worldwide launch of its new TurboGrafx-16 Mini, which will finally not reach the market on March 19 as planned. Thus, the new miniature console, including the three versions according to regions, stops its arrival on the market until further notice.

Production problems in China

Thus, the main cause of the delay of the new TurboGrafx-16 Mini lies in production and distribution setbacks, since the main factories in which the different components of the product are produced in China are partially or totally stopped because of the famous epidemic of Covid-19, main focus of the coronavirus.

The delay, as we say, affects the three models of TurboGrafx-16 Mini, that is, PC Engine Mini, PC Engine Core Grafx Mini and the TurboGrafx-16 Mini itself, and which were to be distributed according to regions. Even so, Konami says he will do everything possible to launch the three console models to the market as soon as possible, bringing us to the next news in the following weeks.

Initially, it was anticipated that all users who had the console reserved before March 5 would receive it in time for March 19, the original release date; finally it will not be so, since all buyers, with reservation or not, will have to wait for a new final release date.

Recall that TurboGrafx-16 Mini offers a retro catalog of up to 57 video games, from the famous R-Type, Splaterhouse or Bomberman to other classics such as Galaga, Alien Crush, Ninja Spirit or Space Harrier, among many others.

Nor should we forget that TurboGrafx-16 Mini will not be officially distributed in Spain, something we already knew before the indefinite delay, so those interested in the Konami miniature console in our country will have to resort to importation, either from France , Italy or United Kingdom.
