Doom Eternal will not work at real 4K resolution in Google Stadia

Despite the promises of the technology giant's platform, id Software has acknowledged that the game will not run at the promised resolution.

When Google Stadia was officially presented, in a huge panel on stage it was promised that Doom Eternal could be set to a “real 4K” resolution, something that will not finally happen, since iD Software has confirmed that the game will run at 1080p and 60 FPS on HD screens, while televisions or monitors with 4K options will enjoy 2160p rescaled on the Google streaming system, also at 60 FPS.

No reasons given

This means that one of the games that led the presentation of Google Stadia finally will not be able to reach the goals that had been projected on him, however much the audience of the event broke into applause that time. "If you're going to show the world that you can play games from the cloud, what better proof than Doom?" Marty Stratton of iD Sofware said during the event. "And if you're going to prove to a developer that you're serious about creating a robust platform, what better study than iD, which exceeds the limits of all platforms?"

Statton acknowledged that they could not be "happier" to launch Doom Eternal on Google Stadia: "We are excited to announce that the game will be able to run at a real 4K resolution, with HDR and 60 FPS," he promised. Neither party has offered details on why in the end the objective has not been achieved.

Doom Eternal will go on sale next March 20 for Google Stadia, PS4, Xbox One and PC. The Nintendo Switch version will still be begged, although the developers have praised the quality of the work done by Panic Button, who have already adapted the previous delivery to the Kyoto hybrid and have extensive experience in this kind of work. The official date of this version has not yet been announced, so we must be attentive to new communications.
