The Polish studio recognizes its plans after the long-awaited video game next September. Its development will begin "immediately" later.
CD Projekt RED will start developing a new The Witcher video game as soon as Cyberpunk 2077 goes on sale this September. Adam Kiciński, president of the Polish studio, revealed the information in a meeting with Eurogamer Poland, where he says they already have a "relatively clear concept" of what they want to do again with the successful license of the sorcerer Andrzej Sapkowski.

The beginning of this new project will not be requested. As he indicates, the starting gun for that new video game from The Witcher will take place “immediately” after we start seeing Cyberpunk 2077 in stores around the world; Although that does not serve to approximate or forecast a possible estimated launch date of the game, already in view of the next generation.
It will not be a sequel to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (2015) and it will not be called The Witcher 4. The manager has commented that all the current projects of the company are focused on either the unvierso Cyberpunk (with a multiplayer mode that will come later of the year 2021) or in this other intellectual property.

A small group of the team is constantly collecting materials, documenting itself and gathering resources for future approaches; in this case, already in that of the new The Witcher, in whose development the two great CD Projekt teams will be fully involved. No further details have emerged.
Cyberpunk 2077 will go on sale on PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia, and PC on September 17. Also for those who buy an Xbox Series X this Christmas they will have it through the Smart Delivery function: buy once and play in the version that best corresponds to your console; the game does not need to be purchased twice.
Regarding the expanded universe of The Witcher, the NETFLIX series is being a complete success; one of the largest worldwide within video on demand platforms. The second season has already started filming.
