Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: Masahiro Sakurai does not know if he will make more games after the DLC

The Japanese creative is focused solely on finishing the second Fighter Pass of the Nintendo Switch title. Afterwards, everything is unknown.

Masahiro Sakurai, creator and director of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, does not know if he will continue working on video games when the development of Fighter Pass Vol. 2 of this latest iteration of the saga for the Nintendo Switch ends. His last column in the weekly magazine Famitsu has, once again, reflections from the creative Japanese, this time around the future.

"Honestly, there is no guarantee that I will continue making video games after this," he says, referring to that second batch of paid characters that will arrive one by one soon. “Right now, all I'm thinking about is developing the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC. That done, I really have absolutely nothing on my mind. ”

Regarding these DLCs, the development has been punctuated by the severity of the coronavirus, which can alter the initial scheduling of publication and prior presentation of each of the six characters in that pack.

Fighters Pass Vol. 2 from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: 6 new characters

Masahiro Sakurai's health has been unwanted in the news on more than one occasion. Of his known joint problems we have to add the recent statement of himself where he acknowledges having suffered fainting after going to the gym due to fatigue.

We do not know what the characters in the second DLC pack of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass will be; however, this recent poll had – with a surprising difference – Sora, the protagonist of Kingdom Hearts. The Fighters Pass Vol. 2 will give access to six packs of applicants progressively from now until December 31, 2021. Each applicant pack includes a fighter, a stage and various music tracks.

We remind you that the first Fighters Pass can be bought for 24.99 euros and includes Joker (Persona 5), Hero (Dragon Quest), Banjo & Kazooie, Terry Bogard (Fatal Fury) and Byleth (Fire Emblem: Three Houses).

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is available exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
