Horizon: Zero Dawn will have a new comic in the form of a sequel in 2020

The critically acclaimed Guerrilla Games title will expand the narrative universe of the play through bulleted literature. First confirmed details.

Horizon: Zero Dawn will have a new adaptation to the world of comics. After knowing the plans to launch a prequel this May on the occasion of the Free Comic Book Day 2020 – which is delayed by the coronavirus -, we have now learned that Guerrilla Games and Titan Comics will tackle new Aloy adventures this July with a comic in the form of a sequel.

At the moment, we know that Horizon Zero Dawn # 1 will go on sale in physical distribution chains and digital devices this July 22 in the United States. The story will give prominence to the character Talanah Khane Padish, hunter's apprentice and with a fundamental role in the original PS4 video game. The story will be written by Anne Toole, while Ann Maulina will take on the role of the brushes. The first volume will feature several full-color illustrations for the cover, featuring artists such as Stanley "Artgerm" Lau, Loish, and Peach Momoko.

The news comes just a few days after it was confirmed that God of War will have a new adaptation to the comic book universe with a story between God of War III and God of War (2018).

Guerrilla Games is already working on its next video game

That Guerrilla Games is not stopped is something we already know. The Dutch studio, after the success of the title launched in 2017, has been actively seeking experts in experience design with a multiplayer component for its next video game since January. Sony's subsidiary studio, with just over 200 employees, thus requires staff capable of performing functions not seen in Horizon: Zero Dawn, thus opening the possibility that an eventual sequel does include multiplayer options.

It should be said, however, that we do not know if the new Guerrilla work is a sequel to Aloy's adventure or if, on the contrary, it is a new intellectual property, the return of Killzone … We will have to wait to find out. What is certain is that this new work will feature "an epic open world."

All in all, Horizon: Zero Dawn has to date sold over 10 million units worldwide and has become one of the most successful new IPs of this generation. Sony, for the first time in its history, will launch an in-house production away from PlayStation consoles, as the title will be released on the computer this summer with the Complete Edition via Steam and with additions as a game option in ultra-wide resolution.
