PlayStation: SIE Worldwide Studios Europe president leaves Sony

Michael Denny joins other big names like Shawn Layden, one more march after 25 years working for the PlayStation brand.

Michael Denny, a veteran PlayStation member and current president of SIE Worldwide Studios Europe, has announced his departure from the company to join the ranks of North American TT Games, owned by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and makers of LEGO video games.

With a resume that leaves 25 years of connection to the PlayStation brand, Denny joins the names of Shawn Layden, head of Sony Worldwide Studios, who announced his departure from Sony in October; or that of Shuhei Yoshida, who as part of the internal restructuring left his position in the direction of Sony Worldwide Studios in favor of Hermen Hulst to seek, care for and "nurture" smaller and independent external studies.

Michael Denny's role within TT Games will be vice president for business operations strategy, execution and business; including regarding the LEGO franchise in video games. In the statement, he says goodbye with words of thanks, he interprets it as a homecoming, since he already worked hand in hand with TT Games in his early years on PlayStation.

"After 25 incredible years on PlayStation, where I have had the privilege of working with great and incredible talented people and teams, I want to bring my experience to a new opportunity," he begins by saying. "I am very excited to be able to help create a new vision for TT and lead the study into a successful new phase in its evolution process," he says. From Warner Bros. Interactive, President David Haddad has welcomed his incorporation with open arms and makes clear his position to continue developing new video games in the immediate future.

Sony's future is called PlayStation 5

And that immediate future now passes through PS5 within Sony. The new console of the Japanese giant will be launched at Christmas 2020, as the company has reiterated on numerous occasions. We already know the final specifications of the machine, which will have 10.28 TFLOPS and high-speed SSD memory that is becoming one of the main attractions of hardware for developers.

Although we do not know the final price of PlayStation 5, the FreeGameTips reader community has already made its bet.
