The Last of Us Part 2 dazzles in new images: settings and characters

The announcement by Sony and Naughty Dog has been offset by the publication of new screenshots showing new scenarios.

The Last of Us Part 2 and Marvel’s Iron Man VR have been indefinitely delayed. The news came out this past afternoon, when Sony Interactive Entertainment and Naughty Dog confirmed that, due to the global crisis we are experiencing due to the coronavirus, "it is preventing us from offering the launch experience that our players deserve." To compensate, the official website of the expected title of the Californian company has been shown in about a dozen new images.

The images do not contain plot shreds; Yes locations, familiar faces and scenes that we had not seen. We recommend not viewing the images if you want to get to the launch completely from scratch.

And no, there is no confirmed release date on PlayStation 4 right now – the delay is indefinite. While Naughty Dog reckons this delay won't drag too long, we won't be playing Ellie and Joel's new adventure on May 29. Yes we can see this couple in new captures taken directly from a PS4 Pro, says the editor, with locations that we had not seen previously, although this time they are close to the final version of the video game.

According to the statement, the game was in the process of eliminating errors, but the time they have been working remotely for COVID-19 has not prevented the staff from continuing to work normally since, in effect, the development was really approaching the so-called gold phase.

Naughty Dog, who has described this delay as "disappointing" for them, will keep the players informed of any eventuality and, above all, a new date to mark on the calendar. What remains intact is the plan to release Ghost of Tsushima on June 26, a date that seems a little further from the crisis; long enough not to go into those blank months that WHO anticipates can delay the outbreak's expansion and control. Neither PS5, planned for "late 2020" and without an adapted or improved version of The Last of Us Part 2, no matter how close in time they will be.

The United States, which is a few weeks behind Spain in regards to the growth of this contagion curve, has not reached the peak of those contacted and, therefore, the resumption of international commercial activities may be delayed until well into spring.
