LEGO Super Mario confirms date, price, sets, app and new details

The LEGO Group confirms how the first product line of this collaboration with Mario will be in the so-called Starter Course. It launches in summer.

The LEGO Group has announced new details about LEGO Super Mario, the new interactive toy product of the collaboration between the Danish giant and Nintendo. After revealing the first official aspects of the agreement, we now know what the Mario Starter Course will be like, its price and the launch date in territories such as the United States, where reservations will be opened in the coming days.

August 1, 2020: Price of first LEGO Mario sets

The LEGO Mario figure will include an LCD screen for each of his eyes, mouth and belly to show different reactions through his movements; which also includes a small speaker to listen to the most iconic mustache sounds while we play.

LEGO Super Mario will go on sale this August 1 in North America with different sets: the Starter Course, which will have a recommended price of 59.99 euros / dollars and will include “an expansion consisting of seven blocks for different actions with the figure of LEGO Mario, which will only be included in this set ”.

Additionally, LEGO will sell several Expansion Sets, of which two have been revealed: Piranha Plant Power Slide Expansion Set and the Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle Expansion Set. As their names indicate, the first of them has the Piranha Plant as the main protagonist; the second, the Castle of Bowser that we can see in the images. Each of them will have a recommended price of 29.99 euros / dollars.

To end, the statement indicates that an app for mobile devices called LEGO Super Mario will be launched with which to "support and improve" the gaming experience by taking a tour of the scores we achieve, instructions to build the figures and sets (rotation, enlarge the image, change the angle …) and suggest other ideas to take advantage of each of the expansion sets for new worlds and encourage creativity.
