Apex Legends will not add Solos mode forever: "Negatively affects"

Electronic Arts justifies the absence of this modality because it considers that it does not work as it should within the playable proposal.

The Duos mode may have been added to Apex Legends permanently, but that doesn't mean the same is going to happen with the Solos mode, which was available during 2019 on several occasions, but only temporarily. Electronic Arts has confirmed that it is not among their plans to make that move, since they consider that the game is designed for the cooperative and not for the solo experience. According to the company, solo mode negatively affects the gaming experience.

While Duos "had a positive impact on the health of the video game", especially with regard to queues and the playable system, "this is not the case with Solos. "When we introduced Solos as a limited-time game mode, we found that it negatively impacted the game, especially in terms of player retention," says CM EA David. “We also designed the Legends and their abilities to complement team play and squad composition, but when you play solo the abilities of some Legends become useless. These are just some of the reasons why we decided not to include Solos in today's update. ”

Additional problems

It is not the only problem that the title suffered during the solo sessions. Eurogamer reports that some players complained that certain people were teaming up to collaborate in this mode, since many of the friends queuing together used to end up in the same games. This, of course, can be solved, although at the moment it does not seem that Electronic Arts or Respawn Entertainment have it as a high priority.

Apex Legends, free-to-play available for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, does not yet feature cross-console play, although Respawn Entertainment recognizes the importance of that functionality in products of this type. Furthermore, the study has started a new temporary event, Viejas Costumbres. All the details in this article.
