The director of the film assures in a recent interview that the popular galactic character will be very important in the third part of the UCM saga.
Rocket, one of the most charismatic characters in Guardians of the Galaxy, will play a special role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the third part of the Marvel Studios saga that its director, James Gunn, is already preparing after dealing with the reboot of Suicide Squad for Warner Bros. and DC. This has been recently recognized by the filmmaker through an interview with the Comic Book media, in addition to pointing out various aspects and curiosities of the first two films.
Theatrical release for 2022 or 2023
Thus, according to the director of the film, Rocket will star in a prominent role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and will also answer many questions from his past, such as those terrible cyber scars on his back that we could see in the first movie when the witty raccoon meets Star-Lord.
Regarding his prominent role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, the director commented: “I will only say that Rocket occupies a great place in what will happen in the future and many of these things establish everything that I have been planning for Rocket during all this time ”, referring to his marks on the back.
Precisely, on said scars, Gunn argues that this scene "is one of my favorite moments in the film", assuring that "the loneliness and disaffection of Rocket is the center of the franchise for me", concludes the filmmaker. Recall that the latest rumors about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 place the High Evolutionary, the creator of Rocket, in the film, as well as featuring his partner, Lylla, Rocket's partner in the comics.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 does not currently have a release date, although it should hit theaters in late 2022 or as early as 2023. On the other hand, the presence of some of them was recently confirmed in Thor: Love and Thunder.
