Job offer reveals Dead Island 2 development continues

Dambuster Studio is looking for an art director to work on a undead ravaged Los Angeles reenactment in this sequel.

The turbulent development of Dead Island 2, with multiple studio changes, is one of the industry soap operas since it was announced at E3 2014. Originally developed by Techland, creators of the original, these decided to focus on Dying Light to give this up to the Germans from Yager, and then move on to Sumo Digital and now to Dambuster Studio. Now, a promoted job offer from the British studio has made it clear that Dead Island 2 is indeed still standing.

The offer specifically refers to an art director who will work in a recreation of Los Angeles, where Dead Island 2 is set. "Create a sunny environment on a large scale zombie apocalypse in the iconic Californian city for the next installment of the franchise Dead Island ", says this offer, referring to a delivery that will reach" current and future platforms ", most likely pointing to an intergenerational launch, that is, that would reach both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as well as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

To apply for this position they ask someone with experience in a leadership position in at least one triple A game, in addition to, as usual, leadership skills, communication and the ability to work as a team. Thus, although it has seemed to be dead on many occasions, Dead Island 2 refuses to give one last death rattle.

Who are Dambuster Studios?

Currently, as we said, Dead Island 2 is under development at Dambuster Studio, a studio based in the English city of Nottingham, and created by former members of Crytek. After being acquired by THQ Nordic, they created Homefront: The Revolution, the sequel to a title owned by the previous THQ that fell out of favor and that even being a regular game, it did manage to garner better reviews. Now they will try to revitalize another saga that in recent years has seemed cursed as Dead Island is.
