Ghost of Tsushima details news of its history; still planned for June

The Sucker Punch title is still dated June 26 exclusively for PlayStation 4, although the COVID-19 can change everything.

Ghost of Tsushima has been the main protagonist of the latest issue of the physical videogame magazine Official PlayStation Magazine. The publication, official from Sony and on sale since this April, dedicates an extensive report to the new Sucker Punch, the last major exclusive PS4 release before the arrival of PlayStation 5 in late 2020.

According to the information compiled on Reddit, the game will pay close attention to the story, context, and narrative. If the coronavirus doesn't stop it — Sony studies possible delays to first party games; With The Last of Us Part 2 as a manifest example—, on June 26 we will control Jin Sakai, a samurai prepared for years to fight for his uncle Shimura, formerly Lord of the territory of Tsushima.

Freedom of movement on the island: survival

The game will begin with the fight on the island's beaches, where they will have to placate the Mongol Army's stake; but it is in vain, since Tsushima's assets are defeated and only Jin remains standing. All in all, Jin escapes, aware that in order to fulfill his vital goal as a samurai, he needs much more severe and time-consuming training.

This is where the Path of the Ghost begins, a ninja combat style that is supposed to be elemental for this purpose. Through this plot premise Ghost of Tsushima begins, which will offer freedom of movement in the huge open world that Sucker Punch designs. Survival, action, collecting objects such as bombs and weapons … It will also be possible to strengthen ties between clans and other characters, with whom a relationship can be established; all of them established in camps scattered throughout the island.

In the absence of knowing how the design of main and secondary missions will work, the main story will be guided by the fate of the protagonist, who will suffer from his own internal phobias about what is right and what is not. The Official PlayStation Magazine issue also includes a headline referring to the population's livelihood: "mud, blood and steel". Finally, they highlight that Ghost of Tsushima will be a game full of landscapes and an impressive technical section, capable of taking full advantage of the hardware of a PS4 that is beginning to say goodbye.

The date, according to the magazine, remains the same: June 26. It will be then when, at best, Ghost of Tsushima goes on sale exclusively for PS4. At the moment, Sony has nothing to announce about an eventual version of the game on PS5.
