Riot Games explains how the ranked games of its new competitive shooter will work, and what requirements to meet in order to start playing them.
As it continues to succeed among gamers around the world, and also on streaming platforms, the Riot Games team in charge of Valorant continues to unveil details of the new shooter from the creators of League of Legends. In this it has almost been Ian Fielding, a member of the team in charge of the competitive aspect, who has spoken about the games with rank, which will arrive soon.

Firstly, Fielding assures that the competitive games will arrive after patch 0.49 -the last one to appear has been 0.47-, both in Europe and in North America, although he has not given specific dates. According to him, these games follow the same rules as those that now they are playing, completely friendly, although focused on high competition and on the performance of the players. "Valorant's competitive system is in a very early state, and it will evolve over time," says Fielding. "We already have an experience that we want to share with you in the closed beta, so that we can build and improve it together. While the games without rank will always remain available, the competitive ones will appear and disappear, so that we can refine the mode and incorporate your feedback "
In order to access these competitive games, you must first play 20 games without rank, as Fielding says, "before the real sweat starts." Once in them there are eight ranks, each of them in turn divided into 3 tiers, except for the maximum rank, which will be known as Valorant. Obviously, the best way to rank up is to win games, but Fielding claims that individual performance will also count, though as he says, far less than wins. That yes, they want that there is a system according to which it is deduced how decisive we have been in the victory or defeat of our team.
As for balance, Riot's intention is for the gathered players to have a rank difference of at most 2 ranks, so there are no big differences between players in the game. He has also ensured that if we have not played for a while, our rank will not be available, although once the first game is played after our return, it will appear on the screen again.
Valorant is expected to arrive this summer in its final version on PC, with options that it will also reach consoles and even mobiles.
