The new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake collects the opinion of the critics

Square Enix's work marks the beginning of a review of the classic game, which goes through the extension of its history.

Criticism has spoken. The players, too. Final Fantasy VII Remake has been released and has generated the odd debate for certain plot changes from the 1997 classic. Still, many of those unknowns will not be answered until the new installments are published. Meanwhile, Square Enix has posted a new trailer that adds to the feelings of the American press. At the time of writing, Metacritic's average mark is 88 out of 100.

Yoshinori Kitase, producer of the remake and director of the original, has pointed out that there are no drastic changes and they do not want to eliminate the iconic locations that all fans remember. Therefore, the main lines of Final Fantasy VII will continue in this reimagined version, although it is unknown to what extent it will be separated from the original. What is not so clear is how many deliveries it will be made up of; nor of the dates that Square Enix handles for the following chapters.

The Turks, some very brawling thirty-somethings

The same information, which comes from a translation of the Final Fantasy VII Remake Ultimania guide, uncovers some more curious detail, such as the age of the Turks, the group serving Shinra. Both Reno, Tseng and Rude are no more than 30 years old. Rufus, the son of the top man of Shinra, who also has a lot of power in the company, has arrived at that age.

Final Fantasy VII Remake has managed a good launch despite the coronavirus. As reported by Square Enix itself, they have managed to place 3.5 million units both in digital sales and in the distribution of physical copies. The game went on sale on April 10, just days after Resident Evil 3 Remake did. Other companies have chosen to modify their release dates, as in the case of Sony and The Last of Us Part II, which will finally be released on June 19.
