PUBG and Octopath Traveler arrive at Google Stadia

During Stadia Connect, Google presents two new titles from major publishers that are immediately added to the Stadia Pro catalog.

Google has announced during its first Stadia Connect of this year 2020 that both PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) and Octopath Traveler are added to the Google Stadia catalog in Stadia Pro from today. The battle royale video game thus joins the company's streaming title library along with the Square Enix JRPG.

According to the information, PUBG arrives at Google Stadia with support for crossplay with the rest of the platforms. No charges and no waiting, just start the game and join an online game. For its part, Square Enix adds one more title after Final Fantasy XV and several installments of Tomb Raider. The version of Octopath Traveler that is incorporated is the same as that of PC. Other titles announced during Stadia Connect were Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and FIFA, among others from EA, which will be available in the fall.

2 months of Stadia Pro totally free during the coronavirus crisis

We recall that Google is offering a total of 2 months of Stadia Pro totally free in 14 countries, Spain included, as a measure to make the confinement by coronavirus more bearable. Just by having the Stadia app on Android or on a computer or television (with Chromecast) you can access titles like GRID, Destiny 2: The Collection and Thumper without paying a single euro; once the promotion ends we will have to pay 9.99 euros if we want to continue subscribing.

“Right now, maintaining social distance is essential, but being isolated and staying at home for a long period of time can be very difficult. We know that video games can be a very useful option to socialize with our families and friends from a distance. So starting today, Stadia will be accessible for free in 14 different countries. ” They have not indicated when the promotion ends.

Google Stadia currently has a catalog of thirty titles, although this number will grow in 2020 with exclusive games and temporary firsts. The Stadia Pro pack currently costs 129 euros and includes three months of subscription (to later be 9.99 euros per month) plus a Google controller compatible with Stadia, a Chromecast Ultra that we can connect on a television, to a Buddy Pass —Three month gift to a friend—, and full versions of games like Destiny 2 and Samurai Shodown.
