F1 2020: Accompany Carlos Sainz in the virtual version of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya

Before the celebration of the Virtual Grand Prix, scheduled for Saturday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m., Codemasters will show F1 2020.

The coronavirus epidemic has paralyzed international sport worldwide, something that Formula 1 has not been spared. Be that as it may, many competitions have moved into the digital world. In the case of F1 2020, the new official installment of this vertiginous sport, we will soon be able to enjoy the intense Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Koch Media Spain has announced in a press release that we will be able to see Carlos Sainz and his new car on this high-speed track before the celebration of the Virtual Spanish Grand Prix.

"Those of you who have enjoyed the previous game will be able to appreciate elevation improvements between turns 13 and 14, emphasizing its last sector," say Codemasters, the developers of the video game. Right after, on Sunday, May 10 at 7:00 p.m., footballers of the stature of Sergio Agüero, Thibaut Courtois and Arthur Melo will debut in Formula 1 (virtual, yes) to compete against Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, George Russell, Nicholas Latifi, Antonio Giovinazzi, and Alex Albon.

Replaces the Chinese Grand Prix

The virtual competition will be held at the Shanghai International Circuit (China), which is the actual location where the Heineken China Grand Prix would have taken place had it not encountered the coronavirus. All participants will play from their own houses, so faces will not be seen through the screen.

The competition will be broadcast live through the official channels of Formula 1 on YouTube, Twitch, Weibo and Facebook, with a stipulated duration of one and a half hours. Firstly, a preliminary classification will be carried out in which the positions of the starting grid will be defined based on the times achieved. Second, there will be a 28 lap race.

F1 2020 has already been officially announced. It will go on sale on July 10, 2020 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
