Gamescom 2020 and Opening Night Live date their digital events

The organization of the most ambitious video game event in Europe announces the dates of its streaming event due to the coronavirus crisis.

Gamescom 2020 already announced weeks ago that this year it was canceling its face-to-face celebration due to the global coronavirus crisis and the current situation of confinement, following the example of many other massive events that have canceled its different celebrations. Of course, it was already advanced that instead of the classic face-to-face appointment some type of digital event would be held; Now, we finally know the dates on which it will take place: from August 27 to 30.

Announcements, special panels and more

This has been shared by its organizers, confirming that at the end of August their own digital event will take place with large announcements, special programs, panels dedicated to specific titles and many other news related to the video game industry and the increasingly next-generation led for PS5 and Xbox Series X.

In addition, it has been confirmed that the Opening Night Live, the show presented by Geoff Keighley that was announced for August 24, will go on air on the 27th of the same month, an event that will precisely kick off Gamescom 2020 as part of the German event. But there is still more; Several shows have been confirmed as part of Gamescom, including the Awesom Indies, a program dedicated, as its name suggests, to independent video games.

In this sense, the so-called Daily Show will also take place, a space reserved for different companies to present their best projects, the Gamescom Studio, a program dedicated exclusively to interviews with developers and creatives, and the Best of Show, the icing on the cake to Summary mode with all the news of the digital event of the Gamescom 2020.
