The company CD Projekt, which also owns the GOG store, outperforms Ubisoft in terms of market value.

CD Projekt, the company that encompasses CD Projekt RED and the digital distribution store GOG, is only growing. Eurogamer already highlighted last February that the market value of Poles had increased, to the point of reaching 8,000 million dollars, only behind Ubisoft (9,600 million dollars). However, the latest figures show that the creators of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the future Cyberpunk 2077 continue on their upward path – the tables have turned.

Ubisoft, with a market value of $ 8.12 billion, is in second position, since CD Projekt has replaced it as the most valuable company, although not by much. According to the numbers shared by VGC, the Polish firm has a market value of $ 8.3 billion. Outside the European borders, there are other more powerful companies. For example, Take-Two Interactive (owner of Rockstar and 2K Games, among others) is worth $ 16.13 billion, while EA is worth $ 35 billion. Higher up are Nintendo ($ 53.73 billion) and Activision-Blizzard ($ 56.27 billion).

Of course, giants like Microsoft, Sony or Tencent exceed the volume of any of these companies, although all of them have in common that their business focus is diversified in different divisions and products.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, anniversary

Not every day is a birthday, but The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's fifth anniversary has been pretty sweet. The birthday comes some time after its launch on Nintendo Switch and with sales that have been reactivated thanks to the Netflix series, a product that is based on novels and is not directly linked to video games. Still, fiction showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich acknowledged that she'd considered the titles and that related Easter eggs had been introduced.

CD Projekt RED works on Cyberpunk 2077, its new production for Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5, PC and Google Stadia. The work will go on sale on September 17, if everything goes according to plan. In principle, the company rules out delays due to COVID-19.
