The relaunched campaign mode of the second Modern Warfare shows that there is still interest in single player experiences.
The Call of Duty saga is at its best in the last ten years. After the success of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and its battle royale aspect, marketed independently and free of charge (free to play), Warzone, from SuperData, now reflects the successful debut of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, the remastered relaunch of the single player campaign of this installment, which in April alone added 3.4 million copies in digital format worldwide; 4 million in total if we add those of the last day of March.
According to the report, the demand for this single player content has been really positive. Launched on March 31, on its debut day it achieved sales on PS4 alone of 622,000 units, a performance from which only positive conclusions are drawn and which in April has placed the game in eighth place in billing through consoles; above Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, just behind in the Top-10. That condition of exclusivity remained until April 30, so it remains to wait a few weeks to know how the game's debut on the rest of the platforms has been.
It is not the first time that Activision launches a campaign individually, since with the first Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (CoD 4) they already launched their remastering in 2016 by Raven Software; initially only available within Infinite Warfare.

New Call of Duty in 2020: Confirmed by Activision
Despite the rumors, there is no information about a possible Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 remastered with its campaign individually on current-generation consoles. What is certain is that in 2020 there will be a new installment of Call of Duty, as reflected by Activision in its latest financial report.
It is expected that in the coming weeks it will be confirmed which study is in charge this time (if Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games or Treyarch) and if it is a new installment of Black Ops, as it has sounded in different forums without official endorsement through .
