Call of Duty: Warzone | Infinity Ward drops BR Classic mode days after release

This modality turned the game into a much closer experience to titles like PUBG, more focused on mere survival.

Just a few days ago, Infinity Ward announced the addition of a Classic Battle Royal mode for Call of Duty: Warzone, a modality that would only be present in the video game for a limited time. However, the period in which it has been available has been only three days, since the developer has already withdrawn it, despite its success. BR Classic was a game experience closer to PUBG, something that was achieved by removing some elements from the main game.

What the study did was to end the monetization system, contracts and purchasing stations. So no killstreaks or reviving a dead partner. The Gulag, one of the fundamental pieces of the video game, was eliminated in this classic modality. The idea was for the player to face survival without ambiguity. As soon as he started, he had to take up arms and continue on his way to defeat the other opponents.

Double experience days

It should be noted that both Modern Warfare and Warzone will have double points for a limited time. From Friday, May 29 to June 1, all players will be able to get faster progress in battle pass experience, weapons, and progress. Throughout these months, Activision has organized similar sessions on a regular basis.

Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play game available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The title developed by Infinity Ward works as a standalone title, so it doesn't directly depend on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Both video games, however, work under a seasons model, through which new content is added on a regular basis. Activision has already confirmed that the battle royale will have a version for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
