PS4 is updated to version 7.51: all the details and improvements

Sony's home console, PlayStation 4, receives this patch to improve system stability. Weight download details already available.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has released version 7.51 of the PlayStation 4 firmware worldwide. Players who own a PS4 console – regardless of model and region – can now download this little patch, which comes with the goal of improving overall system performance.

According to the official portal, the PS4 7.51 update released on May 27 does not bring major changes compared to version 7.50 a few weeks ago. "This system software update improves the quality of system performance," we read in the patch note. No further details have emerged. The download weight is 470 MB in our case. As this is a minor advance in numbering, it is expected that only small problems reported in isolated cases have been solved.

Depending on whether we have configured the console to notify and warn of the download of updates automatically, it will be enough that we have our console connected to the internet (by cable or via Wi-Fi) to apply the file, which will take a few minutes to finish with a consequent restart of the machine. To do it manually, the procedure is simple: we access the menu of our PS4 and go to Settings (Configuration)> (System)> (System information) and, if it has not been updated, click on (Update now).

For any type of doubt or problem, from the PlayStation support website there is the option to download the PS4 update file manually, a file that we must transfer via a USB drive to our PS4 following the relevant installation guide. All the details here.

The next two big PS4 releases have first and last names: The Last of Us Part 2 on June 19 and Ghost of Tsushima on July 17. The first of them is on the decline and, as we can already anticipate, the Reviews will be available on FreeGameTips this June 12 from 09:01 (CEST). These will be the games that serve as a farewell to the PS4 generation in terms of great exclusives. Starting Christmas we will talk about PS5.
