EA Motive shakes up social media: new projects anticipated

The developer has not officially announced what she is working on, but Kotaku assured that Star Wars: Project Maverick is her new project.

Electronic Arts EA Motive studio already has its website. After working as a support for titles like Star Wars Battlefront 2 (campaign) and Anthem, the Montreal developer has made her social media debut. And it has done so in anticipation of new projects, which they will share through social platforms. “The Motive family is excited to join social media to share who we are and the work we do. We can't really imagine a better time to start connecting with everyone online. Let's go there ”, they comment in their premiere tweet.

The company, until recently led by Jade Raymond (now in Google Stadia), is immersed in the development of a new Star Wars video game, not yet announced. However, months ago, one of the bots that detect and record all the movements of the companies' digital stores, hunted the tab and a concept art for Star Wars: Project Maverick, an experimental video game with multiplayer elements, as left fall. To date, the link of this work with EA Motive has been established by Kotaku, a means that confirms that this is the video game that is in the engine room.

Present and future of Star Wars video games

Electronic Arts has owned the rights to the saga since Disney bought Lucasfilm. Shortly after the acquisition, the entertainment giant announced the closure of LucasArts, the legendary developer of graphic adventures and video games from Star Wars. The most recent hit for EA was Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order, the action-adventure game developed by Respawn Entertainment. Given its triumph in sales, this narrative single player title will become the first in a new saga.

Lucasfilm has also just announced a new production for virtual reality. This is Star Wars: Tales from Galaxy's Edge, which will allow us to explore the world and participate in history through decisions and consequences.
