PS5: Sony to announce new release date “soon”

The description of the official YouTube video has been updated with a small message in which they promise news soon.

Everything was set for the PlayStation 5 to present its first video games at an event scheduled for June 4. However, in addition to the coronavirus epidemic, there was a systematic racism pandemic that re-fattened the African American and black community in the United States. After the murder of George Floyd by police officers, the #BlackLivesMatter movement has risen up against racism and many companies have supported it. PlayStation decided to postpone the PlayStation 5 launch event, but it looks like the announcement of a new date won’t take too long.

At least that indicates the official description of the YouTube video, which has been updated with the following message: “This event has been postponed. We will be in touch with a new date soon ”. Other events have opted for a similar path and have announced new dates close by, such as the PC Gaming Show or the IGN Summer of Gaming. If you have doubts about it, we recommend you take a look at all the alternative presentations that emerged after the cancellation of E3 2020.

What do we know about the PS5 event?

As of today, Sony has not yet shown the console casing, but the event they had prepared was focused on the first PlayStation 5 games. It is not clear what projects were going to be shown, much as Guerrilla, the creators of Horizon Zero Dawn, they will drop possible news. It was confirmed, however, that the duration of the presentation would be over an hour. For now, you will have to arm yourself with patience. As PlayStation said in its statement, it is time for other more important voices to manifest.

PlayStation 5 will go on sale in late 2020. Despite rumors, the coronavirus crisis has not changed the launch window, nor has it done in the case of Xbox Series X.
