Guerrilla Collective is postponed to support the Black Lives Matter

The big indie games event, an alternative to E3 2020, is postponed to support the protests and demands after the murder of George Floyd.

Guerrilla Collective, the alternative to E3 2020 for indie games, has published on its social networks that the event will be postponed for a week so that these days the attention falls on what really matters, the #BlackLivesMatters movement. The event, which was scheduled for June 6, 7 and 8, will take place on the 13, 14 and 15 of this month. In addition, the organization will hold a broadcast on June 7 focusing on all black voices in the video game industry. During it, several interviews will be done with black developers and games with black protagonists will be shown. “We have come together to create a space where we all find a voice to support each other, our industry and our work,” reads the message posted on social media. “A digital event that brings hope and positive content to the world. It is a time for action and to hear the voices that want justice and change.”

What is Guerrilla Collective?

Guerrilla Colective is a digital event that was to form part of the Summer of Gaming organized by IGN and the Play for All that is also held by GameSpot, two of the websites that have tried to alleviate the absence of E3 with their own fairs and conferences. The event completely leaves out the big developers and focuses on the announcements and projects of more than 20 independent studios, among which are names of the caliber of Funcom (Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Conan Exiles), Larian Studios ( Baldur’s Gate III, Divinity: Original Sin II), Rebellion (Sniper Elite 4, Zombie Army 4: Dead War) and even ZA / UM (winners of several awards for Best Indie Game of 2019 for Disco Elysium, who knows if not this will be the moment of its announcement for Nintendo Switch). If you are interested and do not want to miss any of it, we remind you that you can check here the schedule scheduled for the three days it lasts, as well as the complete grill of participants.
