Skater XL delays its release on PS4, Xbox One and PC until the end of July

The study after Skater XL confirms the delay of his work until July 28 on PS4, Xbox One and PC. On Nintendo Switch it is postponed without a date.

Easy Days Studios has confirmed the delay of their next job, Skater XL. Initially expected for next July 7, the company moves the date to the 28th of the same month on PS4, Xbox One and PC. As for the Nintendo Switch version, it will be detailed “in the coming weeks”.

Through a brief statement, they affirm that from today until July 28 they will show “unpublished material and functions” that will be available from the launch. “We continue to polish content and make Skater XL the game you deserve from day one,” they conclude. The causes of the indefinite delay, for the moment, of the game on Nintendo Switch are unknown.

Skater XL has participated in Steam’s early access program since December 19, 2018. In his description, the team’s intentions are clear: “It has been 8 years since the last contribution of the major publishers to the skateboard genre. As indies, we have chosen to spend the last four on refining what is really important to take a new step in the genre: gameplay and controls. ” Almost 24 months after the deadlines they gave themselves, version 1.0 arrives.

That on-air message from the creators of Skater XL looks like it was a glove picked up by Activision. Those who have the license of the legendary Tony Hawk announced a few weeks ago the remastering of the first two titles, under the name of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Remaster.

Developed by Vicarious Visions, it will feature graphic enhancements, new cheats, added features, and several of the elements that made the 1999 and 2000 entries unique. It will offer split screen and online options as well; on the other hand, it will not have microtransactions of any kind. It will arrive on PS4, Xbox One and PC through the Epic Games Store on September 4.
