Deathloop for PS5 and PC reveals first details of multiplayer

Arkane reveals how Deathloop’s multiplayer works. Invade other players and preserve the murder loop they are in.

Arkane Lyon reveals the first details of Deathloop’s multiplayer features, her new job. The murder cascade will bring Colt and Julianna face to face, the two assassin masters who live facing each other in the loop. According to their managers in the official PlayStation blog, players can choose what kind of experience they want to have during the adventure.

While we handle Colt, we will suffer the invasion of other players, who will take the role of Julianna, the other assassin. The young woman will aim to eliminate us in order to preserve the loop they are in. This role may be performed by other users through the internet or the artificial intelligence of the game.

“We focus on the campaign and the story,” says its director, Dinga Bakaba. “And that campaign can be played with an AI-controlled Julianna or, as we recommend, a mix between artificial intelligence and random players to experience just how unpredictable and chaotic Julianna can be.”

Julianna will chase you to the grave.

Broadly speaking, it works in a similar way to that seen in Wolfenstein: Youngblood. One of the twins can be controlled by a friend or internet user, while there is a possibility that the game will take care of it. In any case, the adventure remains intact whatever your choice.

Temporary PS5 exclusive on console

Deathloop joined GhostWire: Tokyo as two of the surprises from the PlayStation 5 presentation. Both Bethesda Softworks productions will be coming to PS5 exclusively, at least temporarily. This limited period does not affect the PC version, which will arrive simultaneously once they hit the market. In the case of the Arkane game, in late 2020.

As for Deathloop, the team acknowledges having developed it with the new generation in mind. We will play Colt, a man who wakes up every morning on the same beach and with the same murderer on his trail. Our goal will be to end the eight personalities that keep us trapped in this murder loop. All of this while dealing with Julianna, our nemesis.
