The Naughty Dog game becomes the highest scoring title so far this year, regardless of platform. 96 out of 100.

The Last of Us Part 2 is already the video game released in 2020 with a better score by the press than we have been in Metacritic this year. At the halfway point of the season and with big releases still on the horizon, Naughty Dog’s new project exclusively for PS4 currently has 89 reviews computed to give a rating of 96 out of 100.

Third highest-scoring game of the entire PS4 generation

With this average, it is the third game with the highest historical score on PS4, only behind Red Dead Redemption 2 (97) and Grand Theft Auto 5 (97), both from Rockstar, published in 2018 and 2014, respectively. If we stick to six months of 2020, the current result leaves the title of the Californian firm ahead of Persona 5 Royal, rated in this house as a masterpiece, with a 95 out of 100.

Half-Life: Alyx, meanwhile, also considered a masterpiece at FreeGameTips, closes the podium with an average 93 out of 100. Other highlights are Animal Crossing 91: New Horizons and Ori and the Will of the Wisps 90. It should be noted, however, that the three hardware producers have their own exclusive representative in the Top-5 best-rated games of 2020.

The Last of Us Part 2 – Reviews now available on FreeGameTips (93/100)

The Last of Us Part 2 will go on sale on June 19 in physical and digital format for PS4. In FreeGameTips it has a score of 93 out of 100, a work that we consider “excellent”, all “a blow on the table at the narrative level” that we have never seen in this sector. From him we highlight its excellent level design, improved gameplay in both mobility and close combat or a narrative capable of surprising from start to finish. Quite a turning point for the study, which remains at the gates of the perfect note due to its excessive duration and puzzles that have not convinced us due to their simplicity and repetition.
