Sony Santa Monica is working on a project in which they are going to give great importance to the story arcs starring their characters.

Some pool took for granted that the new Sony Santa Monica project would be at the PlayStation 5 presentation event, but the Japanese company decided to wait for another more auspicious occasion. Meanwhile, the creators of God of War continue to shape their next production, not yet officially announced. However, thanks to new job offers, it has been confirmed that the developer is working on a “complex narrative” game.

Two script-related jobs

The first vacant position is that of Lead Narrative Designer. “The ideal candidate must not only have a deep understanding of complex narrative writing for video games, but also be able to execute the narrative within the game through the playable experience” that is intended to be elaborated. “This person will be responsible for designing the narrative systems” according to the “vision of the game director,” they request.

Another open position is for a primary screenwriter. The offer emphasizes similar aspects, although this time the richness of the characters is mentioned. They are looking for a person who specializes in storytelling who “deeply understands the marriage between gameplay and narrative.” In addition to taking responsibility for weaving a quality story, you will need to write “intense character arcs” that use good dialogue, while also focusing on “building and developing” your writing team.

The latest video game from Sony Santa Monica is God of War, a title that went on sale in 2018 and marked the return of Kratos. After their success in the market, it is assumed that they are working on a sequel for PlayStation 5, although it has not yet been announced. PlayStation Studios works on games like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Horizon: Forbidden West.
