PS5: Bugsnax developers explain the advantages of the Dual Sense controller

The title, which will also be released on PS4 and PC, is inspired by games like Pokémon Snap, Ape Escape or even BioShock.

Bugsnax was one of the titles that appeared in the PlayStation 5 presentation event. It is often said that one is what one eats, something that in the case of the Young Horses video game is put into practice to the letter, since at consuming a product, the character instantly mutates. In an interview with US Gamer, Philip Tibitoski, co-founder of the studio, has revealed the advantages offered by the Dual Sense controller in the PlayStation 5 version.

According to Tibitoski, players will be able to tour the stages and “feel the different types of terrain under their feet.” He points out that “running will be great and weird”, although he remembers that in the past the vibration of video games was also a good addition, but “never essential”. Instead, it now makes a big difference, ”since you can feel the intensity at all times.

A strange disease

Bugsnax is a first-person game in which a journalist ventures into Snaktooth Island. He searches for Elizabert Megafig, but when he arrives, he discovers that she has disappeared without a trace. From then on, you will have to work with his followers to find a cure against the Bugsnax, which causes the characters’ bodies to mutate when they consume some food. The developer has promised more than 100 creatures and different locations to explore.

As usual, US Gamer has asked him about the games he was inspired by. Ape Escape, Pokémon Snap, Viva Piraña, Dark Souls or Bioshock have been some of the titles that have influenced this work. The title, which is not yet dated, will go on sale for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC (Epic Games Store).

During the launch event, Sony Interactive Entertainment showcased both videogames from its internal teams and third party products. Among the highlights is Horizon: Forbidden West, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales or Project Athia, by Square Enix.
