Codemasters released more details and a trailer for the career mode in DiRT 5 today, which features a prominent cast. The trailer introduces the career mode, which contains five chapters, more than 130 events, over nine race types and throwdown challenges that are guaranteed to get the pulse of every off-road fanatic racing.
The career mode of DIRT 5 focuses on the highly successful “DIRT Series”, a global racing event with various disciplines and the world’s best off-road drivers. The player starts his beginner career against a selection of established drivers. The line-up includes superstar and fan favorite Alex ’AJ’ Janiček and Bruno Durand, a veteran who quickly becomes an antagonist in the game. The rivalry between AJ and Bruno creates the opportunity for a new aspiring driver to profile himself and build up his legacy in sport.
DIRT 5 offers a star cast cast with the biggest names in gaming and motorsport culture. The speaker icons Troy Baker (AJ) and Nolan North (Bruno) lend their voices to the main characters. Racing enthusiasts and YouTube sensation Donut Media bring James Pumphrey and Nolan Sykes to career mode. The entire story is brought to life via the ‘DIRT Podcast by Donut Media’, which involves current W Series World Champion Jamie Chadwick and YouTube star SLAPTrain.
The career mode is divided into five chapters and offers different paths on which players can choose their events. The better the race result, the more brands the players earn. These are needed to unlock the main event, which is a difficult final challenge that stands in the way of the players. Once it’s unlocked, off-road fans will be faced with the ultimate one-on-one challenge against a snappy fellow from the World Circuit.

The World Tour takes players on a journey from the United States to China and beyond. Real world brands are waiting for fresh talent and there are numerous in-game rewards based on the performance and reputation of the player. The career of DIRT 5 offers couch play support for up to four players. This option is available for all multi-car challenges. The additional drivers replace the AI-controlled vehicles. The highest ranking then counts for player careers, providing a great way to earn brands and help players progress.
DIRT 5 will be released on October 9th for the current consoles and PC and will also follow for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X later.
