The new CD production Projekt RED has also announced a new Japanese anime, which will air in 2022.
The Night City Wire presentation event was only broadcast for a few seconds when CD Projekt RED released a new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077, its highly anticipated first-person role-playing video game. The title, which takes place in a city controlled by mega-corporations, has been revealed in great detail. As if that were not enough, the Polish studio is working on an anime series that will air on Netflix and will be released in 2022.
Edgerunners is an independent story in which Trigger has collaborated. It is set in the same universe, although it will have completely new characters and plots. No further details about the project have been shown yet, so we will have to wait for further communications in the future.

Updated to PS5 and Xbox Series X
During the event, the developers have also recalled that everyone who buys the title on next-generation consoles will have the possibility to upgrade for free to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions. The final update will be ready in 2021, despite that the players of these consoles will also enjoy improvements when they go on sale, at the end of 2020.
Cyberpunk 2077 is scheduled for November 19. After two delays (originally it was going to come out in April, then a new date was set for September 17, which they have not been able to respect either), CD Projekt RED is polishing the gaming experience to the maximum. All the content, the characters, the cinematics and the mechanics are ready, but they need to remove the latest bugs for everything to be optimal. His new play, like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, will also be expanded with two major expansions. Instead of opting for small story DLCs, the Polish studio opts for extensions that significantly expand the story with new story arcs.
