Optimized for Xbox Series X: how it will work and updated game list

Microsoft explains the benefits of this feature so that we “feel the power” of Microsoft’s powerful new console starting at Christmas.

Microsoft has detailed the main characteristics of one of the indicators that we will begin to see more frequently on the covers of video games for Xbox once its new console arrives in stores: “Optimized for Xbox Series X”. From Redmond, who have everything set up to showcase the first Xbox Game Studios games for the future generation in July, they have detailed what this badge really means.

“When you hear that a game has been optimized for Xbox Series X, you know that the developer either natively designed or fully recreated their game to take full advantage of the unique capabilities of our most powerful console yet,” they comment in an official statement.

Now, not all games will have the same improvements nor will it be only one, but they can be several; depending on the type of optimization applied. Remarkably, from virtually eliminating load times thanks to the Xbox Velocity architecture, improved graphics, hardware-accelerated DirectX ray tracing (powered by your custom GPU), more stable FPS speeds up to 120 FPS … For our consideration, the games “Optimized for Xbo Series X” may be:

  • New games that have been created natively for Xbox Series X, such as Halo: Infinite.
  • Previously released games to which the developer has applied enhancements with the Xbox Series X hardware tools, so that they will take full advantage of the console’s features, including its power, such as Gears 5.

Here is the updated list of Xbox Series X games that will be optimized for Xbox Series X as soon as they go on sale. We recall that in July the Inside Xbox dedicated to Microsoft’s first party works will be held; some of them planned for the launch of the machine, such as Halo: Infinite. At the moment, there is no exact departure date or price.
