After more than a year of continuous support, Hitman 2 faces the final stretch with his latest patch, which will be published on November 19.
IO Interactive has not left its star saga aside. Hitman 2 will receive its final patch this month, but the developer already thinks about the future delivery and has started the exodus of her team to this new development. In an official post in which they explain the last bits of the roadmap of Hitman 2, the study has been clear: “After 13 months working full time on new content for Hitman (at no additional cost, beyond what we add in the Expansion Pass), we are at the point of looking to the future ”.
According to the study, they are moving more and more members of the Hitman 2 team to join the studio that is shaping "Hitman's next game, which is already underway." This means that the “big patch” of November will mark the end point for this second installment of the restart, although December will still enjoy some extra content. If nothing changes, the update will be available from November 19.
Even so, the game won't stop when 2019 ends. According to IO Interactive, its 2020 plan will focus on continuing to offer contracts to players. They also plan to rescue the previous elusive objectives so that users who missed them have another chance to live this experience.
A new intellectual property with Warner Bros
IO Interactive and Warner Bros announced a few months ago their alliance to develop and publish a new video game outside the Hitman saga. Although the nature of the project is unknown, it is confirmed that it is a new intellectual property for consoles and PCs. The two studies of IO Interactive are immersed in its development.
Hakan Abrak, CEO of the company, said then that at Warner Bros they understand and respect the creative vision of the study. To carry out the project, IO Interactive is looking for new talents that can join their studies in Malmö and Copenhagen.
Hitman 2 went on sale for PS4, Xbox One and PC and was published by Warner Bros. The US company signed an agreement with IO Interactive after Square Enix decided to break its relationship with them.
