Mortal Shell – Souls-like RPG announced, probably also for PS5

Playfront

Publisher Playstack and developer Cold Symmetry have introduced their new Souls-like RPG ‘Mortal Shell’, which is currently being worked on for you on the PC. A next-gen release on PS5 and Xbox Series X is also likely.

The game here says: When you wake up as an empty vessel, you enter a shattered and twisted world in which the remains of humanity wither and rot. To fulfill the commandment of the mysterious “Dark Father”, you have to cross this ragged landscape and uncover hidden sanctuaries of pious followers. There, on Mortal Shell’s most sacred site, you’ll have to overcome formidable enemies.

You won’t be alone when the dead cross your path: scattered across this country are the remains of lost warriors that can be inhabited to gain their unique abilities and knowledge of weapons. The Dark Father absolutely wants you to do your job – but for what purpose? The stronger your connection to each mortal shell becomes, the better you can use its innate talents. Make unique upgrades, sharpen your blade with acid, and study dark arcane abilities that carry out your attacks with supernatural devastation.

In addition to a non-linear campaign, Mortal Shell promises strategic and varied battles that lead you into a swamp-infested lowland, through a gigantic cathedral made of obsidian rocks and into an old crypt that is frozen on the top of a mountain.

Mortal Shell is expected to appear in the third quarter of 2020.
