The Outer Worlds is selling more than expected; date for Nintendo Switch

Obsidian Entertainment takes stock of the commercial debut of the title and ensures that the Nintendo Switch version will be released before April.

The Outer Worlds is exceeding the commercial expectations of Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division, developer and editor of the title, have declared in the latest financial report of Take-Two Interactive, parent of the latter.

The new RPG of the parents of Pillars of Eternity and Fallout: New Vegas, among others, arrived at the stores a few weeks ago with the label of AA and the objective of offering an experience with which to cement a new possible role-playing saga. In the absence of knowing concrete figures and if that desire of Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, directors, is fulfilled or not, what is certain is that those responsible for the title are happy with how things are going at the sales level.

The Outer Worlds is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC; although, in the case of these last two platforms, it is possible to play via Xbox Game Pass, which can significantly reduce the net sales of the game on Microsoft platforms in exchange for guaranteeing a larger player base and an incipient billing through other tracks, as happened with Gears 5.

The Outer Worlds on Nintendo Switch: first quarter of 2020

One of the questions asked by Nintendo Switch players is what will happen to the game's port – which is run by Virtuos, who already signed the Dark Souls ports: Remastered, Starlink: Battle for Atlas and L.A. Noire – confirmed but no date. The report does not give a specific day, but an official window: first quarter of 2020. Therefore, The Outer Worlds will launch on Nintendo Switch before March 31, 2020.

The Outer Worlds is now available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. You can read our Reviews here.

For those concerned with the size of the subtitles, Obsidian has promised that they are working on a patch that improves this small visual inconvenience.
