The Psyonix video game becomes free with microtransactions starting this September 23. We explain how to download it for free.
Rocket League becomes a free video game (free to play) this September 23 at 17:00 (CEST). The purchase of Psyonix by Epic Games has resulted in the transformation of this phenomenon into a global title where there are no barriers (cross-play is added this day) and accounts are shared to unify the same ecosystem. We are going to review how to download the game on any of the platforms where it is available: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
The fact that Rocket League becomes free means that playing online with friends will be totally free: it will not be necessary to have an active account on Nintendo Switch Online or PlayStation Plus, the subscription services of Nintendo Switch and PS4. On Xbox, however, you do need to have Xbox Live GOLD to play online. The rest of the individual modes are totally free for everyone. The only thing that will be paid are cosmetic microtransactions and other seasonal elements that do not affect the gameplay.
How to download Rocket League for free on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch
To download the free to play version of Rocket League it is necessary to have one of the consoles that we choose with an Xbox, PSN or Nintendo user account and, in turn, an Epic Games account to be able to link it.
